Music
Currently there are about 15 peripatetic music teachers who visit the school to teach individual instrumental lessons. It is possible to find a teacher for any musical instrument, but it is helpful to know as soon as possible so that this can be organised in good time.
In the lower school (pre GCSE) girls are taken out of a timetabled lesson and it is their responsibility to catch up on work missed. Staff are sympathetic to this and girls do not miss the same subject more than about once a month. Once girls are doing GCSEs and A levels, instrumental lessons are timetabled as far as possible in study periods, lunchtimes or before or after school.
