Mathematics
There are two teachers in the Mathematics Department, Mrs. Bennett–Jones and Mr. Fraser. Between us, we teach all girls from Remove (Year 7) to Shell (Year 11). Mathematics is also a popular option in the Study, with about 30% to 40% of each year taking AS Level or A Level.
Girls sit GCSE Mathematics at the end of the Shell year, and almost all take the Higher paper. Girls can choose to continue to A Level. If there is sufficient demand, AS and A Level Further Mathematics courses are also run.
Girls enter for the Schools Mathematics Challenges each year except Shell (where the challenge date is often close to the GCSE mock examinations).
