This course builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills established in Religious Studies in years 7, 8 and 9.

AIMS:

· to acquire knowledge and develop understanding of the beliefs, values and traditions of at least two religions (Christianity and Islam).
· consider the influence of the beliefs, values and traditions associated with these religions.
· consider religious and non-religious responses to moral issues arising from studying the following themes:
Believing in God
Social Harmony
Matters of Life and Death
Marriage and the Family
Religion, Wealth and Poverty

This course will cover a number of important issues and will give the girls an opportunity to develop and express their views through discussion, debate and reasoned essay writing
